gnome 3 shell extensions

install gnome shell extensions on ubuntu 11.10

cd
git clone http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-shell-extensions
cd gnome-shell-extensions
./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr
make && sudo make install


I am now using this ppa rather - https://launchpad.net/~ricotz/+archive/testing
